Fast and Furious in Norway with Reindeer Race

6th of February each year is the Sami national day and Europe’s northernmost and the Nordic countries’ only officially indigenous people, Samis celebrate this special day in the main street of Tromsø! 

Reindeer racing is a small, but rapidly growing sport among the Sami people. The racers stand on skis behind their specially trained raindeer on a 201 meters long track. The competitions is organised like a cup, starting with qualifying heats leading up to a grand final where the Norwegian championship title is finally decided.

Experience a unique sporting event and witness the fastest reindeers in Norway fight it out for the Norwegian Champion title. And everything bang in the middle of Tromsø city centre!
