Meet the World’s First Vending Machine That Dispenses Frozen Norwegian Salmon Fillets in Singapore

A local distributor of Norwegian salmon in Singapore has come up with the bizarre and brilliant idea of selling highly demanded Norwegian salmon fillets through vending machines in the Singapore HDB heartlands.

According to the report of Coconuts Singapore, Wisteria Mall, the new shopping center along Yishun Ring Road, is now home to the world’s first “Norwegian Salmon ATM” — though the term “automatic teller machine” refers to devices that perform financial transactions. The only transactions involved here are raw 200g premium salmon fillets that go for S$5.90 each, which can only be paid for with debit and credit cards. They’re all frozen of course, and the vending machine operators Norwegian Salmon Pte Ltd promise no additives or flavoring added to the fillets.
