Norway’s Statoil to Cut 500 Jobs

The goal is to ensure long term business and value creation on the Norwegian continental shelf, Statoil wrote in a message.

Statoil is conducting a comprehensive improvement agenda to ensure the long-term business and value creation on the Norwegian continental shelf. We have now decided to ensure safe and efficient operation, as well as expertise for the new tasks ahead, says Arne Sigve Nylund, executive vice president for Development and Production Norway.

Employment cut plan includes both employees and contract personnel, whose number is approximetly 9000.
