Discontent Grows with the Government’s Employment Policy in Norway

Dissatisfaction with the government’s employment policy has grown in eleven months since the new coalition of FrP and Høyre took over the power, according to the latest figures from the employment survey prepared by the Work Research Institute for YS.

The survey, in which 3,000 workers participated, revealed that the greatest dissatisfaction prevails in the public sector. Here, 52 percent expressed they are dissatisfied with the government’s effort in emloyment policy. Also one in three of the participant said they did not have any idea.

YS leader Jorunn Berland believes it is remarkable that so many do not have an opinion on the government’s employment policy.

– It means that the government has not been very visible in this field, she says.
