Norway still top 10 on Ease of doing business

Norway is a good place to do business. According to the newest survey from the International Finance Corporation and The World Bank, Norway ranks 9 among 189 countries benchmarked. This is down from 7th, from last years survey, though.

10 topics are covered. Norway scores quite high on most of them, however especially good on topics like registering property, paying taxes, enforcing contracts and resolving insolvency. 

Doing Business 2014: Understanding Regulations for Small and Medium-Size Enterprises assesses regulations affecting domestic firms in 189 economies and ranks the economies in 10 areas of business regulation, such as starting a business, resolving insolvency and trading across borders. This year’s report data cover regulations measured from June 2012 through May 2013. The report is the 11th edition of the Doing Business series.
