Food Price Inflation Surprises Economists

Inflation rate is higher than economists and Norges Bank expected beforehand. In one year, the consumer price index has increased by 1.9 percent. Price hike in food prices in the last one month was especially high in fresh fruits and vegetables and chocolate products, according to the figures from Statistics Norway (SSB).

While food products became more expensive, the prices of clothing and footwear increased by 2.2 percent last month, also spending on recreation and culture increased by 1.6 percent.
