SAS Accuses Ryanair of Cheating

The appeal by SAS was sent to the Scandinavian aviation authorities in November, writes Berlingske Business. SAS claims that Ryanair provides wrong information about the weight of their planes to the European aviation authority Eurocontrol before departure.

That way Ryanair pays lower fees, because the fee is calculated from the number of miles and the aircraft’s takeoff weight. Ryanair, Europe’s biggest low-cost carrier, denies any wrongdoing but declined to comment further.
