Record Personal Debt among Norwegians

The unpaid debt among Norwegian consumers have passed 65 billion NOK. Bank and credit card debt is on top of the debt record, followed by liabilities in connection with mobile and broadband, insurance liabilities, liabilities to the public, and internet shopping, according to TV2’s report.

Silje Sandmæl, a consumer economist at DNB Bank, thinks that people should have things at once, and the problem stems from inability to wait for having new things.

-We buy things in advance, using the credit card and consumer loan records, says Sandmæl to TV2

She is surprised by the high debt figures, and believes many are living in a bubble.
