Strike Averted at Norwegian

Leader of the Norwegian Cabin Association (NK), Marit Lindén, is pleased that the employer, in connection with the workers’ demand on wage increase, has given guarantees.

– The requirement for permanent employment was given to pilots earlier this year, now this warranty includes the cabin crew. This means that all employees have guarantee for their jobs, says Lindén said to NTB.

With the agreement, Norwegian avoids the first strike in the company’s ten-year history. The dispute between the unions and employer Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA had been ongoing since June.

On Monday morning, the unions had announced withdrawal of 836 of its 1,200 members in the cabin.
