The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) published its annual ranking of corporate sustainability leaders. In the telecommunications sector, Telenor Group continues to rank among the top five global leaders in terms of sustainability.
This year marks the eleventh year that Telenor Group has been recognized as one of the top members in the DJSI universe of mobile communications companies. This year’s indexes reveal that Telenor Group’s score has significantly improved year-on-year.
“This recognition reflects our long-term commitment to sustainability. The growing interest in corporate sustainability from investors and analysts proves that this part of our business creates value for Telenor Group,” said Jon Fredrik Baksaas, President and CEO, Telenor Group.
This year, Telenor Group saw improvements in its innovation management score, as well as continued high ranking in the areas of impact of telecommunications services, supply chain and climate change.

We see this as recognition of our company-wide focus on sustainability, as a part of our business. The DJSI is a widely recognised benchmark for identifying the world’s corporate sustainability leaders. The DJSI assessment uses an in-depth analysis of economic, environmental and social criteria with a special focus on industry-specific risks and opportunities. The DJSI universe of participating mobile operations continues to expand and now includes 40 companies.
