Price Cut in Healthy Foods Turns into Competition

Kiwi announced the decrease in prices of 220 healthy foods carrying green keyhole logo on Monday. After VG announced Kiwi's decision, other food chains of Norway, Rema 1000 and Rimi cut prices of more than 200 so-called green keyhole-foods.

Kiwi manager Erik Burud said they hope the competition will make the healthy food cheaper for consumers.

The price cut is temporary available until 1 July, and it aims to encourage the government to cut VAT on healthy foods, which is currently 14 percent.
