The First Seminar on Capital and Development

It is the topic of the first seminar on capital and development. Every year, ten times more money goes out of poor countries comparing to incoming aids to these countries.

Assistance is only a small part of the politics that affect the development of poor countries. Tax havens and low transparency make it easy for foreign companies to defraud the tax in poor countries. Less income tax makes it less money for health and education.

– We wish that more companies put their money in poor countries to strengthen development there, "said when the Environment and Development Minister Erik Solheim.

When and Where?

Time: Wednesday 10th November. 10-12. It will be served lunch.

Location: House of Literature (Wergeland-saddle).

Erik Solheim will hold the post in addition to the state secretary Paul Julius Skogholt (NHD), Wenche Fone (NCA) and Jeanett Bergan (KLP).

Panel discussion will be done by Peter N. Myhre (FRP), Inga-Marte Thorkildsen (SV), Hans Olav Syversen (KrF), Morten Eriksen (Økokrim), Sigrid Klæboe Jacobsen (Tax Justice Network).
