StatoilHydro Becomes Statoil with its New Logo

StatoilHydro ASA changes its name to Statoil ASA, today. There will be no change in the ticker code on the Oslo Stock Exchange (STL) or NYSE (STO).
The group announced that they will use the change to clarify the strategy for the future with their new symbolic logo, command star.
Command Star represents the company’s history, pioneering spirit and ambition to be a leader in efforts to find solutions to meet rising energy demands. The design of a three-dimensional object is motivated by its strong technology-history and strategy. Color selection for the new logo was magenta, a distinct color of the Nordic evening sky. Magenta is a color that will help to give the company a distinct identity and visibility in the global market, reported in the press release from the company.
The new profile will be used in all parts of the group except for gas stations, which retains its current Statoil logo.
