A majority of EU ministers support further action to regulate the price relationships between milk producers and dairy industry. It initiated a “High Level Group”(HLG), which will have the responsibility to consider ideas for how these regulations can be designed. This group will report what it will find in June 2010.

The European agricultural organizations Copa and Cogeca continue to require interventions in the market. They said that in the long term dairy farmers can only maintain their livelihood if the European Commission and ministers agree to strengthen market measures, such as intervention of buying and export. They also call for measures to support demand to the use of milk powder in feed.
Norwegian Agricultural Authority (SLF) protects the directorate exercises for Agriculture and Food (LMD) and ensures a uniform management of instruments in the country and across the value chain.
