The report submitted by the youth organization calls the fund management to take specific measures for following their own code of ethics, writes {Aftenposten}. Petroleum Fund has strict ethical rules for the companies to be invested in.
{Changemaker} leader Ingrid Aas Borge believes that the ethics process has been significantly weakened after Sigbjørn Johnsen (Ap) has been appointed as Finance Minister in 2009 . She suggests that ethics is reduced to being a nice word and there is a clear decline after Johnson took over. Arild Hermstad, leader of another youth organization, {Framtiden} i våre hender (the future in our hands), agrees and notes that the level of ambition for Ethics Council has been lowered.
On the other hand, Ministe {Sigbjørn Johnsen} rejected criticism and said the work of responsible investment practices have been developed and strengthened in his term.
In June, Church Aid Organization (NCA) and Changemakers had collected signatures for Norway to introduce rules that prevent Norwegian companies to operate in tax haven developing countries. The collected 38 582 signatures had been handed to the Finance Minister and Johnsen had promised to introduce the requested rules as soon as possible.
