House Prices Falling

According to NTB's report, the price of detached houses decreased by 1.7 percent in the third quarter of 2010, While the prices of small houses and flats increased by 0.8 and 1.4 percent.

The sharpest decrease among the big cities happened in Bergen, where prices fell by 0.7 percent. On the other hand, in another big city, Trondheim, the prices rose by 2.8 percent on average. In all the other regions there was a decrease last quarter.

Statistics figures show that prices have risen by 6.7 percent since last year. The sharpest price increase occured in Stavanger and Trondheim, with respectively 14.1 and 12.5 percent.

House prices In Oslo and Bærum rose by an average of 6.1 percent last year, while the rest of Akershus had the lowest increase, by 4.8 percent.
