In his final speech to the Oslo Military Society as Head of the Intelligence Service (E-tjenesten), Kjell Grandhagen said that China and Russia stand behind extensive intelligence operations against Norway, according to TV2.
– Network-based intelligence operations are now, along with terrorism, the most serious acute threat to Norwegian interests. Such operations are performed against a variety of targets in Norway, and foreign intelligence services target continuously Norwegian authorities and socio-critical businesses. We have no hesitation to name Russia and China, which are behind the most serious network-based intelligence operations directed against Norway. Both nations have high skills and show a high degree of assertiveness in their approach towards Norwegian goal, says Grandhagen.
