Norway and Egypt Leading Donor Conference for Gaza

The conflict in Gaza in summer lasted 51 days and costed over 2,100 lives, predominantly Palestinian civilians. 

Rebuilding costs for the conflict in Gaza is estimated at about four billion American dollars. 

There is high level participation in Cairo, including the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Secretary of State John Kerry, EU High Representative Catherine Ashton, Secretary General of the Arab League Nabil Al-Araby and over 30 foreign ministers from countries all over the world who want to support the reconstruction of Gaza and provide assistance to Palestine. 

Norwegian Foreign Minister Børge Brende heads the Norwegian delegation.

The conference is organized by Norway and Egypt jointly with the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas.
