New Parliament President of Norway: – The Americans Must Apologize

The newly elected president reacts to Norwegian television TV2 on information from documents whistleblower Edward Snowden has obtained that the U.S. security NSA (National Security Agency) may have monitored as many as 35 heads of state .

– USA is perhaps the nation in the world that has stood for democracy and freedom. This undermines that bright picture. If this is the case, it is both disappointing and scary, he says to TV2.

He believes the revelations and the case must be “extraordinarily embarrassing” for the U.S. government.

– We have to expect it cleaned up immediately, and they owe an apology to these people, adds Thomessen.
