Immigrant Families Must Learn Norwegian

Progress Party (FrP) will tighten asylum and immigration policy. Central FRP politicians warn that there will be a centerpiece of FRP in the campaign and any government negotiations. Among many other suggestions, the party demands that adult immigrants seeking family reunification shall complete a language and knowledge test in their home country before coming to Norway, writes Dagsavisen.

– As far as I know there are schools and training institutions in all countries in the world, says the Progress Party’s immigration policy spokesman Morten Johansen Ørsal.

– When I started to learn Spanish, I did it online. I also assume that anyone who wants to bring a spouse from another country regularly visit this spouse, also on the way, you have the ability to learn languages. Those who come to Norway are to have knowledge of the Norwegian language and be able to express themselves in a simple way in Norwegian, says Johansen.
