Barents Euro-Arctic Council’s 20th Anniversary Forum in Kirkenes

The meeting is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Barents cooperation and is an initiative by Norway, which is the chair of the Council in 2012-2013.

The Heads of Government will review the progress of joint work at BEAC, which includes Russia, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Sweden and the European Commission, and also will discuss ways to further strengthen cooperation among states in the region.

A bilateral Norwegian-Russian programme, including press opportunities, is also planned on 4th of June. The press service noted that special attention will be given to “working with partners in the implementation of programs for the integrated development of the north-western regions of Russia”.
