Opposition against Norwegian membership in the EU is so strong and substantial that pro-EU lobby group Europabevegelsen even believes that the debate has been totally dead, according to Norwegian daily Klassekampen.
The newspaper writes that the movement no longer supports Norwegian membership and even allows the EU opponents to join them.
General Secretar of the organization Kirsti Methi says they recognize that the debate about Norwegian membership is dead at the moment. She thinks they can work on other issues related to the Norwegian European cooperation making the organization a more flexible movement that works for European cooperation instead of being a combat organization that fights for Norwegian EU membership.
