Clinton participates in a health seminar in Oslo City Hall on 1st of June, Friday. The seminar hosts a number of Norwegian experts and other African ministers. After the seminar, Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg also meets Clinton for lunch and bilateral conversation at Akershus Castle. Stoltenberg says that concrete proposals in Norwegian-American relations will be put forward to achieve the objectives, specifically on gender equality and arctic cooperation. The Norwegian foreign ministry reported that Clinton also had expressed interest in meeting some of the survivors of last summer’s terrorist massacre on the island of Utøya.
The visit to Norway is part of Clinton’s tour of northern Europe and in several former Soviet republics and Turkey. Her first stop was Copenhagen. From Tromsø, she travels to Stockholm before flying to Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and finally Turkey.
