According to Norwegian Daily, Dagsavisen, Norway has had regular contact with the Muslim Brotherhood through the embassy in Cairo in recent years. The purpose was to obtain views on the movement's political development and human rights situation in the country.
– The need for contact has only been further highlighted by developments in Egypt in recent weeks, vice state secretary Ragnhild Imerslund told to the newspaper.
