According to Norwegian state broadcasting company- NRK’s report, Norwegian Parliament (Stortinget) Secret services control commission (EOS) brings the matter for discussion in August to clarify whether many Norwegian citizens have been affected with the monitoring.

– We can not go in and check American surveillance documents, but we can control the Norwegian secret services’ archives and find out what information they have received from their foreign partners, says EOS leader Eldbjørg Løwer to NRK.

Chief of Police Security Service (PST) Benedicte Bjørnland welcomes the investigation.

– We participate in international cooperation. It is essential for a small country like Norway. Information we receive from other countries can help to prevent serious incidents at home, says Bjørnland.
