According to VG’s report, Listhaug believes such an arrangement may encourage more schools to provide school lunches, while refugees can get work experience and language training.
– I wish that the school my daughter attended had such an offer. They’ve become tired of these packed lunches. I think it is something all parents experience. (School lunch) can make children eat more, says Listhaug.
The proposal involves a subsidy for labor practices at school canteens for refugees who have been granted residence in Norway and includes two-year introduction program.
