These are the first World Snowboarding Championships since 1999 run by the World Snowboard Federation and the snowborders themselves. 
The championships will produce four world champions: in slopestyle and halfpipe for men and women. On 17 February there will be a spectacular event in Homenkollen with a quarterpipe competition. In addition, Terje Håkonsen and 20 invited riders will compete for highest air. Can anybody beat Håkonsen's record of 9.8 meters?
