Norway Foreign Minister to South Africa

The meeting between the Nordic countries and a number of African countries is the 14th in the series since the first meeting was held in Sweden in 2000. The meeting aims to be a forum for mutual information exchange between North and South.

While the dialogue between Nordic and African countries has traditionally been shaped around assistance, the agenda is now global affairs and political and economic issues related to the African continent.

During the meeting, the participants will discuss new global sustainability, economic growth and jobs, climate, good governance and security policy. Foreign Minister Brende will hold a post on inclusive economic growth and how such growth can help to reduce disparities, unemployment and poverty.

Brende will also have bilateral meetings with a number of foreign ministers and South African leaders.
