Nordic Prime Ministers Meet in Norway

Prime ministers of Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Norway met in Norway's Lotofen Island to discuss the Nordic, European and international affairs on Sunday.

10. June 2012: Prime ministers of Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Norway meet annually to discuss the Nordic, European and international affairs. This year's meeting is in Lofoten and Tromso.

Problems in the European economy was the main topic when the five Nordic prime ministers meet in a spectacular setting in the Lofoten Islands.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg said that it is dangerous to believe that Norway will not be affected by the financial crisis in Europe. 

The Nordic leaders also discussed an extended health cooperation to make the region as a single health zone.

- We are 25 million people in the Nordic countries. We have similar health challenges, and we can certainly do much to bring about better cooperation on healthcare, says Jens Stoltenberg to NTB.

The prime ministers meet in Tromsø on monday 11 June. Today's agenda is Nordic cooperation, the financial crisis in Europe and other current foreign policy issues.
