Norway's ambassador to Estonia, Lisa Kleven Grevstad signed an agreement on the establishment of a Nordic-Baltic airspace cooperation (North European Functional Airspace Block, NEFAB). Grevstad signed the agreement with the Minister of Estonia, Juhan Parts and ambassadors for Finland and Latvia. The signing took place at a ceremony in Tallinn, Estonia.

NEFAB collaboration aims to provide significant positive effects related to airspace, flytrafikktjeneste, support functions and systems.

- A further optimization of the use of airspace will provide less cost, less delay, lower fuel costs and lower CO2 emissions. This will bring significant positive economic effects for all parties involved, says Transport Minister Magnhild Meltveit Kleppa.

Transport Minister Magnhild Meltveit will meet representatives from Estonia, Latvia and Finland later this week in a Nordic-Baltic pre-assessment to the EU transport ministers' meeting in Luxembourg.
