Norwegian Conservatives Climb to Top
Conservatives have 29.6 percent support, while Ruling Labor Party receives only 26.1 percent in a new poll conducted for Norwegian daily Dagbladet.

Photo : Høyre Website| Conservative Party had reached Labour Party (AP)'s support level with 26.5% percent based on an average from the previous seven national party polls in August.
According to the result of the poll, Conservatives (Høyre) grow by 2.3 points, while Labour (AP) drops by 1.9 points.

Here are the distribution of votes:

Høyre: 29.6%

AP: 26.1%

FrP: 22.3%

SP: 6%

Q: 5.2%

KrF: 4.9%

V: 3.2%

Rød: 1.6%


Høyre is a traditionally conservative political party formed in 1884. In recent years the party has also become more liberal, conservative, and supports liberal social issues such as adoption rights. Erna Solberg from Bergen has been party leader since the party's national convention in May 2004. Conservative Party's parliamentary group consists of 30 representatives for election 2009.
