Two Norwegian ISIS Fighters Killed in Syria

According to TV2, one of those killed is Hisham Hussain Ahmed, whom Norwegian authorities have been most concerned about.

24-year-old recently was holding a leadership position in the terrorist group. He came as a 13-year-old to Norway as an asylum seeker from Eritrea. He lived for five years with a foster family in Bærum, and he studied in Volda for a shorter period, writes Aftenposten.

The second killed ISIS member is a 23 year old from Oslo.

-We can not confirm or deny this claim, says Siv Alsén, senior adviser at the Police Intelligence Service (PST).

But she notes she can only confirm that there are around 60 who have traveled to Syria from Norway, about 20 have returned and ten have been confirmed killed.

– We can not confirm the information that two Norwegians have been killed in Syria. Overall I can say that it is difficult to confirm reports of deaths in Syria, said spokeswoman Veslemøy Salvesen Foreign Ministry.

The Government consider refusing ISIS fighters access to Norway

Last week the UK had announced foreign fighters who will return to the UK may be denied access to at least two years, but with the possibility of extension. The Norwegian government is investigating whether the same can be done in Norway.

– We find it very interesting that David Cameron has announced this proposal. We will now investigate whether this is also possible for Norway to introduce, said State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice, Jøran Kallmyr (FRP) to TV2.
