New Norwegian Embassy in Tehran to Be Built by Norwegian Students

Two Norwegian students from the Oslo School of Architecture and Design have gathered to make up a diploma project concerning as a model new Embassy building in Tehran, Iran. According to their view, old embassy holds only the administrative and representative functions. In the new building home and workplace would be collected under the same roof.

The new spatial structure is based on the enfilade principle well represented in traditional Persian architecture style. Big windows are designed for transparency and direct sunlight to come in. The structure allows a visual contact with panoramic overview when walking through the embassy. Such composition is repeated throughout the whole plot. Rooms equated and emphasizes the application’s democratic tones
