- Tawakkul Karman is the Arab world's new icon. We applaud her courage, strength and effort. She is going to succeed, says one of this year's Nobel Peace Prize winner Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to Norwegian state broadcasting company, NRK .

In an interview with NRK, Peace Prize winner Karman stresses that there is room for human rights and democracy within Islam and she rejects the image of Islam in the Western world is largely related to 11 September and Al Qaeda.

- We will use the Qur'an to stress the need for respect for human beings, which are the basis for human rights, says she to NRK.
