17 people seriously injured by fireworks
A total of 17 people suffered serious eye injuries during the New Year celebration in Norway.

According to Dagbladet's report, six of the the accidents led serious injuries, while majority of injuries were moderately severe.
The figures for this year is almost same in the years when the stick firecrackers were still allowed in Norway. The experts told that the number of injuries in this year is due to uncertainty, and the increase in private firework use in addition to bad weather conditions.
