CO2 Tax on Gas from 1 September 2010

The Parliament decided to introduce CO2 tax on gas from 1 September 2010 in connection with the Revised National Budget of 2010.

The overall CO2-tax on gas is the same as CO2 tax on mineral oil. The gas delivered to industry and to companies with mandatory emission quotas tax is added at a reduced rate, while the gas for chemical reduction and electrolysis, metallurgical or mineralogical processes get full exemption. The same applies to greenhouse industry, fishing, hunting, and passenger transportation.
