The Norwegian salmon industry welcomed the decision of federal anti-monopoly Service (FAS), wrote NRK.  The Norwegian salmon producers are said to be afraid to lose the Russian market if they criticize Russians. Therefore, none wanted to do it, but they anonymously provided information to the Russian agency.

- If our business enters into exclusive long term contract, then the Russian veterinary agaency "finds" bacteria in your fish, says one of the Norwegian producers to NRK.

Previosuly, three Norwegian salmon producers had been excluded from the Russian market. Russian authorities had suggested that they can use this practice as a countermeasure against Norwegian fish conservation policy.
