52 Iranian Scientists and Students Evicted from Norway

According to Aftenposten’s report, 52 Iranian scientists and students were evicted from Norway last year, under the regulations to prevent the export of knowledge for use in the development of illegal weapons. 

PST informs that they make individual assessments of both the person’s background and studies. Besides two years of compulsory military service record in Iran makes researchers suspects having close connection to Iranian military or weapons industry.

According deputy director of the Foreign Ministry Frode Andersen it is too early to say what consequences the atom negotiations between Iran and the international community will have for sanctions against the country and its citizens in Norway.
