Tollvesenet (Toll Customs) would like to
introduce body scanners at Norwegian airports to control drugs smugglers. Tollvesenet is concerned about the increase
in what is called internal trafficking. People hide drugs in body cavities or
by swallowing of packaged drugs.
Drugs hidden in luggage or attached to the
body, is detected by drug dogs. But drugs that are hidden inside the body, is
impossible for dogs to find. Tollvesenet authorities believe that body scanning
should be introduced in Norway, according to TV 2
